Pashto film actor Badar Munir passes away

LAHORE: Badar Munir, a renowned Pushto and Urdu film actor has passed away early Saturday in Lahore. He was 68.

He was cardiac patient for the last four years. Munir was brought to a private hospital with complaint of chest pain in Lahore two days back, where he passed away today, reported ARY OneWorld.

Badar Munir was the legend in Pashto Cinema's history who dominated Pakistani film industry for almost 35 years.

Munir was born in Swat and belonged to Miankhel tribe. He made his debut in Pushto film, Yousuf Khan Sher Bano, released in 1970, which proved a big hit. His film `Dulhan Aik Rat Ki' also set several new records.

Badar Munir also acted in hundreds of Urdu and Pushto movies.

The Swat-born started his professional life as a rickshaw driver in Karachi before joining film industry. Later, he was employed by Chocolate hero Wahid Murad in his office from where he started his film career.
