RAWALPINDI: National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) achieved another distinction by winning a place in the Top 400 World Universities” from among 30,000 universities around the world, as per the latest ranking announced by the Times Higher Education and Quacquarelli Symonds, UK. The ranking is based on internationally recognized standards including improvement of infrastructure, quality of education, innovative research, international linkages, collaborative research, participation in international exchange programs, out-put of high-caliber graduates etc. Rector NUST Lt Gen Muhammad Asghar felicitated NUST staff, faculty and alumni on attaining the coveted position among the leading institutions of higher learning.
NUST earned its charter in 1993 and in a span of 15 years has risen to this prestigious position. NUST is now functioning as comprehensive university offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Engineering, IT, Health Sciences, Applied Biosciences, Basic Sciences, Business Administration and Economics.
NUST comprises 22 institutions, including 6 leading military colleges which are open to civilian students. It is now moving to its technology smart campus in H-12, Islamabad.
