ISLAMABAD: The government has offered the governorship of Punjab to former president Supreme Court Bar Association and renowned lawyer, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, reported ARY NEWS.
The offer was made on Thursday when Ahsan - a longtime PPP stalwart presently facing the wrath of party’s leadership due to his active role in the struggle for restoration of deposed judges, separately called on President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani here in the capital.
He has confirmed the offer to the media, saying that no decision has yet been made in this regard, the channel added.
Meanwhile, Aitzaz Ahsan while talking to ARY NEWS’ program Late Edition said that the cases of the beneficiaries of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) may be reopened. |
