 Updated :   Tuesday  December  29 , 2009  7:14:05 PM
RAWALPINDI: All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) has announced that it would go on indefinite strike from December 30 to seek government attention for resolving their major problems, reported ARY NEWS.

Chairman APCNGA Ghiyas Piracha has directed all the members to cover their filling dispensers and hang protest banners in support of their demands at all stations.

The APCNGA has demanded that the gas loadshedding be ended immediately, there should be a 50 percent difference between the prices of gas and petrol and a ten-year CNG policy be announced in consultation with the CNG representatives.

Ghiyas in a press statement said with the increase in gas prices the CNG industry would not survive after January 1, because there would be little difference between the price of petrol and CNG.

About 2.5 million vehicles were running on CNG and the annual average gas consumption by CNG sector comes to only 6 percent, he said, demanding the CNG sector should be exempted from load shedding.

The CNG industry was saving precious foreign exchange by curtailing the import of petrol, he added.
